CHUBurger Donates 47 Bikes with the Help of CAN’d Aid Foundation

CHUBurger Rino and CAN’d Aid Foundation Invite Community to Build Bikes for Local Second Graders on Rockies Opening Day.
47 bikes are to be donated to Wyatt Academy in Denver.

WHAT: Oskar Blues Fooderies’ CHUBurger Rino and the CAN’d Aid Foundation have teamed up to build and donate bikes to 47 kids on Rockies opening day. The entire second grade class at Wyatt Academy, a Title I school in Denver, will receive the bikes that afternoon after a BMX and bike safety demonstration from BMX biker Mike Murfitt.
Community volunteers are needed to help build the bikes in the morning and help fit helmets and adjust seats for the kids in the afternoon. CHUBurger will provide food and beer for volunteers and CAN’d Aid will provide all tools necessary to build the bikes. Rockies mascot Dinger will make a surprise appearance for the kids when they receive their new bikes.

WHY: The donation is in support of the CAN’d Aid Foundation TREADS + TRAILS initiative, which focuses on getting people outside. Since its inception in 2013, more than $2.6 million has been raised to support “do-goodery” efforts. For many of the kids at the Title I school, the bikes received on April 7 will be the first they have owned.
